Organizers held a National Day of Prayer event at Mobile Government Plaza on Thursday, May 7, 2009. Speakers included Archbishop Thomas Rodi, Mayor Sam Jones, Rabbi Steven Silberman, Pastor Debbie Jacobs, and Jason Greene.
In addition to speakers and prayer leaders, the "Peculiar People" Drama Team from Garden Sanctuary Church of God and the Cottage Hill Baptist Youth Band performed. Check out the pictures below.

The State of the City: Poised for Progress
On April 8, 2009 Mayor Sam Jones gave the State of the City Address to civic leaders, corporate partners, and other interested guests. Now, for the first time, you can watch the address anytime you want. Thanks to the City of Mobile's YouTube channel (see video below), the Mayor's address can be viewed by anyone in the world. That's fitting, because the entire globe has taken notice to what is going on in the Port City.
