Cops on Top Raise Money for Special Olympics

The Mobile Police Department recently took part in a state-wide initiative to raise funds for the Special Olympics. Police officers sat atop the Wal-Mart at 2500 Dawes Rd. for 24 hours April 24 and 25 and raised more than $3,500 for the worthy cause.

The event, titled “Cops on Top” is an annual fundraiser of the Alabama Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. World wide, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is the largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle for the Special Olympics.

Donations can be made online at www.firstgiving.com/mobilepolicedepartment.
